OSE Members have an opportunity to shape and impact the
future of Physical & IT Security Convergence; and they are
representative of a cross-section of Physical & Logical Security
organizations, from both the public & private sectors. As an OSE
Member, you will be able to participate in defining solutions for Convergence
with other thought leaders in the industry.
As you and your associates evaluate the Open Security
Exchange membership for your company, please note the OSE goals, specific
activities, and programs outlined within this document and the attached
brochure that clearly defines the value of membership. There is a very
compelling business case to justify your General Membership; here are just a
few examples:
General Members:
May
participate on the Board of Directors responsible for driving convergence
industry initiatives, developing, and voting on the strategic plan of the
organization;
May
attend the OSE semi-annual meetings, conference calls, and Convergence
Summit;
Have
access to the Convergence Roadmap™ interactive tool;
Have
as many individuals participate in any of the workgroups or committees,
as they deem valuable. (GM Level limitations apply)
Through OSE sponsored activities such as our Convergence
Council, industry work-groups and educational seminars the OSE is a force for
thought leadership and education on convergence topics. Only OSE Members
have access to our web-based Convergence Roadmap™ tool. This interactive
program helps security practitioners and service providers alike understand the
myriad issues and potential solutions for achieving physical and IT security
convergence.
Increased
Exposure: As a General Member, you can contribute to the
Marketing Sub-committee and assist in marketing efforts for the
Organization while increasing exposure for your corporation.
Create
live links between the OSE website and yours. Develop a Market
presence through the delivery of expertise in the Security Convergence
Space, as you work to drive and facilitate convergence.
Use
Case: You may also participate in developing Use Case articles
with members of the Convergence Council and the CSO Round Table (150 End-user
members of an ASIS sub-organizations exclusive to CSO/CISO and 2 rungs
below). Only the OSE is positioned as a vendor neutral, Non-profit §
501(c)(3) organization providing our members with access to both End-users
and Industry as we bridge that gap to learn and educate both sides on
converge.
You
may submit Company-centric Use Cases utilizing your own clients (subject
to Board approval). The Use Cases will be published on OSE website,
member websites, SIA website and possibly ASIS. Some may be
submitted to industry publications as well.
Webinars:
Your Marketing representatives may develop webinars utilizing the
expertise of other OSE members and advertise it as such. As a NPO,
you will draw more Government participants than if it were to be positioned
as a company event for fear of Salesmanship.
Speaking
Opportunities: As a General Member your representatives will be
presented with opportunities to speak on behalf of the OSE, at other
industry events such as ASIS, SIA, Smart Card Alliance, etc. thereby
transferring the subject matter expertise to your company with regards to
physical Security converging with IT security.
Alliances:
You will have an opportunity to build a larger presence in the physical
security and IT security domain and develop alliances and new
opportunities with accessibility to manufacturers, consultants,
integrators and end-users in both domains.
Technical – Education – Implementation Resources:
You
will have the opportunity to lead standards initiatives as they pertain to
technology and process/procedures in the area of converged Identity
Management, Access Management, Event Management, etc.
You
may participate in other General Member’s Webinars as a subject matter
expert (SME) in these convergence areas providing education to the
industry, but also gaining a greater understanding of industry
requirements.
You
may take a leading role in developing the forum for the Convergence
Summit, an Educational Event to be sponsored by multiple industry
organizations, positioning the OSE and its members as the Bridge
Organization between End-users and Industry.
You
may develop “OSE Workshops” to further evaluate end-user needs. The
workshops may be submitted to the Board for curriculum approval and it may
carry the OSE name for neutrality and credibility.
As we
further develop our “Implementation Resource” initiative, you will have an
opportunity submit solutions that qualify to be linked to our OSE
Convergence Roadmap™ tool, which will be made available on our website to
all members and prospective clients.
As in any organization, without member participation, the
value of the OSE is limited. To get the most out of the OSE, it is best
to have at least one Marketing, Technical and Sales or Managerial
representative, participate. Active participants are able to open doors,
open eyes, and create new opportunities, and revenue possibilities.
The OSE Board looks forward to your involvement and upon
executing your OSE membership application I will share our current initiatives
with your participants and get them started.
