Established in 2003: Open Security Exchange is a § 501(c)(3) Not-for-profit association of security experts that provides a forum for A&E firms, consultants, end-users, government agencies, manufacturers, system integrators, and allied organizations to mutually define opportunities for Physical & Logical Convergence & Interoperability.
OSE offers its Members an opportunity to shape and impact the future of Physical & IT Security Convergence. Our Members represent a cross-section of Physical & Logical Security organizations from both the public & private sectors. As an OSE member, you will be able to participate in the defining solutions for Convergence with other thought leaders in the industry.
CA's Dave Hansen Discusses Convergence and Identity Management
CA offers an array of logical security products, including Identity Life Cycle Management; that includes CA Identity Manager and CA Role & Compliance Manager, described as a "big analytics engine"
As Security Squared dives ever deeper into identity management, exploring physical and logical identity convergence possibilities, we're getting perspectives from some sources who bridge the IT and physical identity worlds. For software giant CA, Dave Hansen (pictured), corporate senior vice president and general manager, CA Security Management, fits that bill.
Johnson Controls on Integrated Physical/Logical Identity Management
Brandon Arcement, manager, global security technology for Johnson Controls, gave a webinar in early May entitled "Enhanced Identity & Compliance Management Delivered Through Systems Integration."
It's not just the IBMs, CAs, Suns and other heavy hitting IT firms that talk about authoritative data sources and roles-based policies. Johnson Controls, probably best known for wide-ranging building automation and physical security solutions, is talking "integrated identity management access control architectures" and their potential for improving security while cutting costs.
How many identities do you have?
The Notion of Identity: An Interview with Quantum Secure CEO Ajay Jain about Converged Physical and Logical Identity and Access Management
How many identities do you have? The question should not be taken lightly. In a typical enterprise, one person may have multiple identities with multiple privileges across different systems, from payroll to applications to geographically dispersed physical facilities. Effectively managing those identities is an issue getting increased attention from both logical and physical security professionals, making it a natural area for converged solutions.
Open Security Exchange Associate & General Members, as well as ASIS CSO Roundtable Members may nominate an end-user / practitioner to become an OSE Convergence Council Member for 2009.
